Virgin Sport will be providing free shuttles in between Civic Center Plaza and Twin Peaks on Saturday morning - stay tuned for the schedule. Note: there is no parking at Twin Peaks, so if you prefer getting there yourself we recommend ride shares. The first wave begins at 9am, and we recommend arriving at least forty-five minutes before your assigned wave - and strongly recommend coming to watch all four!
We recommend arriving by 6:00am, giving you one hour to drop off your bag, meet your friends, and get settled before the Half starts at 7:00am. A number of road closures around Civic Center Plaza will be in place beginning Saturday the 14th, so don’t break a sweat before crossing the start line by rushing—please allow plenty of time to get to the start!
Note: most public transportation will not be in operation that early, so please factor this into you and yours travel plans and remember travel details, like the weather, are subject to change. We recommend driving, ride shares, the shuttle if you’re coming from out of the city, or walking to the start - read more below.
There will be limited parking spots available for pre-reservation. Stay tuned for more!
There will be shuttles available to book from Bus.com - stay tuned for more details.

So you booked your place months ago and now the big day is fast approaching. Whatever your reason for running, you are going to be awesome on race day! Take some time to prepare for the day ahead, so that you enjoy every second. We’re with you every step of the way, so here’s a few Top Tips and handy hints – because we’re nice like that!
Start hydrating, avoid alcohol and drink water with your meal
Check the weather forecast – do you need a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, or your wet weather gear? Be prepared!
Make sure you know your route to the starte and you know how long it will take you to get there on Sunday morning. Plan your journey based on arriving at Civic Center Plaza by least 6am.
Have you told your family / friends / cheer-squad where to meet you before and after the race or even better out on course?
Pack your race day bag – it could be chilly after the race, so you’ll need a comfy change of clothes, a drink and snack to keep you going.
Arrive to Civic Center Plaza with plenty of time to drop your bag, visit the toilet, do a warm up, and arrange where to meet your supporters after race. When you’re ready, make your way to your assigned start pep (see the letter on your bib if you can’t remember)
On race day, stick to your normal running pace; don’t race off too fast.
Only take a drink on course if you need one, drink to thirst throughout the race and trust in the training plan you’ve worked towards
Give spectators a high five as you run past – a timely cheer may be just what you need when legs are beginning to tire.
When you finish the race, you’ll collect your medal, tote bag and snacks. Keep walking, go for a gentle jog, put on your new SF Bay Half hoodie and visit our Beer Garden and Off the Grid food trucks!
